ThirdWave picked for IT Strategic Plan & Roadmap for World-renown Iconic Golden Gate Bridge

January 23, 2020

The organization responsible for managing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge has selected ThirdWave to carry out their Information Technology Strategic Plan and Roadmap. After considering proposals from the largest IT consulting firms in the US, the Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District (District) vendor evaluation committee unanimously voted for the Los Angeles-based firm to execute the vital engagement.

The District is governed by a 19-member board composed of members representing the City and County of San Francisco, Marin County, Sonoma County, Napa County, Mendocino County and Del Norte County.

The District operates and maintains the Golden Gate Bridge and a fleet of buses and ferryboats. Golden Gate Ferry currently operates seven passenger ferries between Larkspur and San Francisco and between Sausalito and San Francisco. An active fleet of approximately 191 buses operates in Marin, Sonoma, Contra Costa, and San Francisco counties.  The District receives funds primarily from Bridge tolls, transit fares and federal, state and local grants. The IT Strategic Plan & Roadmap will address the strategic tech needs of three operating divisions, Bridge, Bus, and Ferry, as well as the Administrative District Division.

ThirdWave was selected above nationally recognized firms such as Plante Moran and Client First. According to the District, the reasons for ThirdWave’s unanimous selection, beyond our outstanding proposal, were the sample ITSP documents provided to the selection committee. Nicknamed the “Bible,” the District Project Manager noted that “the Bible examples of the processes was it! No one else has a patented methodology, which.no one could compete with. No vendor was able to match the completeness of that ITSP & Roadmap Bible!”
